Biggest downsides of living in Jackson?

I'm a teacher here and You can expect to pay around $1,123 for rent here. Crime rate is something to consider -Jackson sits at 124.7 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Am I overthinking this?

I'm a teacher here and Crime rate is something to consider -Jackson sits at 124.7 per 100K. Poverty rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. What would you do? Any help is appreciated.
