My family moved here when I was a kid. Homes are going for about $534,500 on average. It's a a mid-size city city with about 290K people. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Should I be concerned?

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 10 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..
