Anyone regret moving to Jonesboro?

First post here. Military spouse here. You can expect to pay around $926 for rent here. Homes are going for about $213,400 on average. With a population of 79,187, Jonesboro is a smaller city. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 11 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in The Heights for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
- The housing market scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Westside for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The school system scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.
