Is Jonesboro a good place to retire?

My wife and I are planning to retire in the next few years. We're considering Jonesboro because of being near family. Weather is moderate — about 63F average.

Cost of living looks pretty reasonable. How's the healthcare situation? Any retiree communities?

I've lived in Eastside for 6 years and it's decent, has its pros and cons.

Coming from Denver, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are slightly more expensive but housing makes up for it.

Rent tip: look for places in winter. Prices drop and there's more availability.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

Don't sleep on Riverside. It's up and coming and still affordable.
