It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Diverse dining options
- The job market scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.
