Day-to-day life in Kelso, WA

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $302,300 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,131 for rent here. Poverty rate is 15.1%, which is higher than I expected. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Should I be concerned? Thanks! The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Baltimore about 4 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are affordable, gas is decent.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much reasonable but now it's hit or miss.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Portland about 9 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is underrated.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
