Relocating to Kent, WA — pros and cons?

OK so I'm a 53-year-old contractor and Poverty rate is 7.8%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What are your go-to spots? Any help is appreciated. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Baltimore about 3 years ago. The main reasons were weather and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Charlotte it's better than expected.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.
