As a 6-year resident, here are some things about Kent that don't make it into the guides: 1. There are amazing hiking trails 20 min from downtown 2. Several hidden gem restaurants that rival big city food 3. The sunsets here are genuinely beautiful Give it a chance if you're considering it!

Just moved here 11 months ago and Average temperature is around 52°F, so expect cold winters. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Worth the trade-offs? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.
