Working remotely from Kent

So, I'm a teacher here and Poverty rate is 7.8%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider — Kent sits at 371.0 per 100K. Average temperature is around 52°F, so expect cold winters. Median household income is $90,416, which feels pretty solid for the area. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Am I overthinking this? Thanks in advance! The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Came here for retirement and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Westside. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in tech. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Came here for work and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The pet-friendliness is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
