Is Kerman a good place to live?

Anyone else feel this way? Household incomes average around $57,556 in Kerman. The median home value here is around $331,500, which seems about average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Eastside area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Minneapolis about 3 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are wild, gas is tough.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. No regrets on my end..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Lakewood for 3 years. Moved from San Francisco for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.

**Employment:**
finance is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is improving - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Lakewood schools are excellent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Limited shopping options. And school system can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 5/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to LA it's challenging.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Baltimore about 2 years ago. The main reasons were weather and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is average.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Seattle about 1 years ago. The main reasons were family and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good internet infrastructure
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Bought a house here in 2015 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone about the same since then.
