Housing market in Kermit right now

Hey folks, Rent is about $907/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Worth the trade-offs? Cheers. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Bought a house here in 2015 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Chicago it's excellent.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from San Diego about 2 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are growing, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a chef and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.
