Biggest downsides of living in Kihei?

I'm retired and You can expect to pay around $2,021 for rent here. Household incomes average around $87,568 in Kihei. The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

I've lived in Fairview for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- The healthcare scene is tough

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say I genuinely enjoy living here. The pet-friendliness is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..
