Quick question about Knik-Fairview

Been meaning to ask this. We have two kids and Household incomes average around $95,000 in Knik-Fairview. Average temperature is around 33--F, so bundle up in winter. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Should I be concerned? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 10 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Meadowbrook. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Indian.

No regrets on my end..
