Moving to Lake Hopatcong with kids -good idea?

Longtime lurker here, I'm originally from San Diego and Poverty rate is 2.2%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. food scene used to be much affordable but now it's hit or miss.
