Anyone work in healthcare in Lake Oswego?

Longtime lurker here, I've been here for 20 years and Poverty rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Thanks in advance!

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Meadowbrook. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in retail. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in South for 11 years. Moved from Miami for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's been a really good experience overall. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. South schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited high-paying job options. Chain restaurants dominate. And cultural scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 8/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much reasonable but now it's pretty good.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in government. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Korean.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Maple Ridge. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in construction. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
