Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm single, late 50s, and The median home value here is around $894,000, which is pretty steep. Median household income is $140,441, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Am I overthinking this? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 15 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
