How much do you pay for rent in Lake Oswego?

Anyone else feel this way? My family moved here when I was a kid. Poverty rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $140,441, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. What do you all think?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Houston about 3 years ago. The main reasons were work and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is improving.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Definitely worth checking out..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Springfield for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Four distinct seasons
- The housing market scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in North for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions
- The walkability scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2017 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone about the same since then.
