Dog-friendly places in Lake Zurich?

Hey, I'm a remote worker and Average temperature is around 48--F, so expect cold winters. Poverty rate is 2.9%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $418,300 on average. It's a a small town city with about 19,727 people. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Am I overthinking this? Cheers. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value walkability, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely average and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Riverside) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Chicago, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Bought a house here in 2020 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
