Longtime lurker here, You can expect to pay around $1,126 for rent here. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'm a writer who relocated here from Miami about 11 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.
Socially, I love the pace of life here. Hope this helps!.
