Moving from New York to Latimer next month

The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely excellent and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I work in government here and I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market for my field is pretty good. No regrets on my end..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- The housing market scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 13 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
