Why I chose Laverne over bigger cities

First post here. Military spouse here. The unemployment rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Anyone in a similar situation?

Bought a house here in 2022 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone about the same since then.
