Crime rate is something to consider -Leisure Village sits at 402.7 per 100K. Homes are going for about $127,000 on average. Rent is about $1,725/month for a decent place. Median household income is $42,705, which feels on the lower side for the area. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I've lived in Eastside for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- The housing market scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 9 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Miami it's underrated.
