Life in Leisure Village as a young professional

Not sure if this has been asked before, but With a population of 6,307, Leisure Village is a small town. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. Household incomes average around $42,705 in Leisure Village. Homes are going for about $127,000 on average. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Growing food scene
- Lots of new development
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited public transit
- Cold winters
- Limited dining options
- Poor road conditions
Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit is solid here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

The food scene here is hit or miss. Tons of great Asian places. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely excellent and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Springfield) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much affordable but now it's tough.
