Hey folks, Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $1,381/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $1,381 for rent here. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Any advice would be great. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 10 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The cost of living is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
