So, Anyone in a similar situation? I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The weather is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from Boston about 9 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is average.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Definitely worth checking out..
