Longtime lurker here, Been living here since 2015. It's a a small town city with about 5,153 people. Household incomes average around $41,968 in Linton. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What are your go-to spots? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Pine Hills. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in education. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Minneapolis it's challenging.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 2 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a lawyer and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.
