Affordable areas near Lockhart?

You can expect to pay around $1,161 for rent here. Median household income is $67,252, which feels about average for the area. The unemployment rate is 0.9%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $218,400, which is actually reasonable. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Thoughts? Appreciate any input. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Denver about 9 years ago. The main reasons were family and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is improving.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Feel free to reach out with questions..
