Longtime lurker here, Rent is about $1,375/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. What do you all think? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Baltimore about 11 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are growing, gas is challenging.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I work in finance here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is average. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is solid in most areas.
