Hey folks, Homes are going for about $367,900 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Sunset. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in tech. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Korean.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Public transit is underrated here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
