Crime rate is something to consider -Madison sits at 323.0 per 100K. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Does this match your experience? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good.
