Hi all, Poverty rate is 8.9%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $57,050, which feels about average for the area. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The weather is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Nashville about 13 years ago. The main reasons were work and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are wild, gas is decent.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. No regrets on my end..

I work in retail here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Definitely worth checking out..
