What Madison does better than anywhere else

Hey, Would love some local perspective. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Houston about 12 years ago. The main reasons were work and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are manageable, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is underrated in most areas.
