Things that make Menlo Park unique

So, I'm originally from Dallas and Homes are going for about $2,000,001 on average. The unemployment rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What do you all think? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The safety is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Pine Hills for 8 years. Moved from Boston for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Road conditions need improvement. And traffic can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 9/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 6 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
