Couple moving to Mentor from out of state

Random thought, The median home value here is around $229,500, which is actually reasonable. Crime rate is something to consider -Mentor sits at 133.2 per 100K. Median household income is $89,202, which feels pretty solid for the area. The unemployment rate is 2.1%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What are your go-to spots? Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much wild but now it's improving.

I've lived in Downtown for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
- The traffic scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Definitely worth checking out..
