What surprised you most about Miami?

Hey everyone, The median home value here is around $102,600, which is actually reasonable. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Let me know your thoughts. TIA! There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- The cost of living scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..
