Just moved to Milford, any tips?

Random thought, Born and raised here. It's a a small town city with about 1,136 people. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Is this normal for Milford? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

Bought a house here in 2017 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Used to live on the Westside side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Raleigh about 8 years ago. The main reasons were school and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Summers can be brutally hot

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are developing, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Bought a house here in 2024 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Bought a house here in 2020 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in West area are average. Kids love it here.
