Planning a move to Milwaukee — neighborhoods?

It's a a major city city with about 570K people. Rent is about $1,033/month for a decent place. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What would you do? Looking forward to hearing from you all. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Diverse dining options
- The dating scene scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
