I'm a data analyst who relocated here from New York about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is pretty good.
