Commute times in Miramar Beach -how bad?

Random thought, I've been here for 20 years and Poverty rate is 2.2%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $2,097/month for a decent place. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Is this normal for Miramar Beach? Looking forward to hearing from you all. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a electrician, 33, moved here 4 years ago from Baltimore. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Active local events and festivals
2. Close to major attractions
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Property taxes are high
3. The nightlife situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for young professionals. decent vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Baltimore, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $60K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in Eastside for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The housing market scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Hope this helps!.
