First post here. I work in government and Median household income is $55,333, which feels about average for the area. With a population of 5,316, Moab is a small town. Poverty rate is 12.9%, which is around average. Crime rate is something to consider -Moab sits at 785.2 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Is this normal for Moab? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value food scene, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.
