Curious what people think. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Rent is about $3,501/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 7.5%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $2,000,001 on average. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Nashville about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is challenging.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've lived in Old Town for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
- The cultural scene scene is better than expected
