What Monticello does better than anywhere else

Average temperature is around 64--F, so the weather is moderate. Crime rate is something to consider -Monticello sits at 402.6 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. With a population of 8,320, Monticello is a small town. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely tough and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (South) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is solid in most areas.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
