Moving to Monticello for work -advice?

I relocated for work and Poverty rate is 21.1%, which is higher than I expected. The median home value here is around $128,900, which is actually reasonable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. Would love some local perspective.

I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. With a population of 8,320, Monticello is a small town. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Any advice would be great. The suburbs are where most families end up.
