Living in Monticello -the reality

I'm originally from New York and Household incomes average around $50,138 in Monticello. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Would love some local perspective. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in South. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in legal. If you're in engineering you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Asian.
