Living in Monument Beach -the reality

Curious what people think. I'm a college student here and Homes are going for about $540,600 on average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Let me know your thoughts. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely solid and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Sunset) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Dating scene is rough.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a pharmacist and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is solid and there's always something going on.
