Moving to Morgan Hill with kids -good idea?

I'm a remote worker and With a population of 45,152, Morgan Hill is a smaller city. Poverty rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. The median home value here is around $1,127,600, which is pretty steep. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Should I be concerned? Cheers. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in The Heights area are underrated. Kids love it here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely improving and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Westside) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Houston about 14 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is underrated.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
