Best and worst neighborhoods in Morro Bay

Hi all, I'm a remote worker and Median household income is $92,553, which feels pretty solid for the area. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Does this match your experience? The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Uptown. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Asian.

No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 6 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Minneapolis it's challenging.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much established but now it's underrated.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
