Hey everyone, I'm a college student here and Median household income is $42,103, which feels on the lower side for the area. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 13,021 people. You can expect to pay around $857 for rent here. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Would love some local perspective. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Dallas it's challenging.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from Chicago about 2 years ago. The main reasons were school and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is decent.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. No regrets on my end..
