Best hidden gems in Mountain Home

First post here. Just moved here 2 months ago and With a population of 13,021, Mountain Home is a small town. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Anyone in a similar situation? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Bought a house here in 2022 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
