Hey, The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. Would love some local perspective. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Bought a house here in 2019 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I work in finance here and I genuinely enjoy living here. The job market for my field is challenging. Feel free to reach out with questions..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is improving in most areas.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Uptown) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
